Washington: Iran was going to hatch a big conspiracy in the US presidential election to be held on November 5. But its conspiracy has been exposed even before that. It is being told that Iranian hackers tried to link US President Joe Biden's campaign with information stolen from his rival Donald Trump's campaign and in an attempt to interfere in the 2024 election, they also sent unsolicited emails to people associated with the President. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other federal agencies gave this information on Wednesday.
Officials said there was no evidence that anyone who received the mail responded, preventing the hacked information from spreading in the final months of the election. Hackers sent emails to people associated with Biden's campaign in late June and early July, but Biden withdrew from the presidential race shortly after that. According to a US government statement, the emails “contained a portion of stolen, non-public material from former President Trump's campaign.” Earlier, the FBI and other federal agencies have accused Iran of interfering in the 2024 presidential election by resorting to “hacks and leaks”.

The FBI, the Office of National Intelligence and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency have said that hacking of Trump's campaign information and the attempt to break into the Biden-Harris campaign are part of an effort to undermine voters' confidence in the election and incite controversy. Trump's campaign team revealed on August 10 that its campaign information had been hacked. It said that Iranian hackers had stolen sensitive secret documents and distributed them. At least three news organizations – 'Politico', 'The New York Times' and 'The Washington Post' – were leaked internal confidential material of the Trump campaign.
