Beirut: America's enthusiasm has also become high on the lines of Israel which launched rapid attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The US Army has carried out two major attacks on terrorist targets in Syria. 37 terrorists belonging to the extremist Islamic State (IS) group and an Al Qaeda-related group have been killed in these attacks. The American Army gave this information on Sunday. It said two top terrorists were among the dead.
US Central Command said in a statement that it carried out the strike in northwestern Syria on Tuesday, targeting a top terrorist from the al Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Din group and eight others. They also reported an attack carried out on September 16, in which they conducted a “massive airstrike” on an IS training camp in a remote undisclosed location in central Syria. 28 terrorists were killed in this attack. There are about 900 US troops in Syria primarily trying to prevent the withdrawal of the extremist IS group. IS took control of large areas in Iraq and Syria in 2014. (AP)
