Voting machines malfunction in central Iowa county
The reason behind the fear that it will take several days for the complete results to come is also that there has been a problem of voting machines malfunctioning in some places. Voting was also disrupted in America's Central Iowa County due to malfunctioning voting machines. Voting machines are reported to have broken down in Story County, in central Iowa, which is home to about 100,000 people. This may lead to a potential delay in reporting results. “We are aware of technical issues regarding tabulators in some areas of Story County,” said Ashley Hunt Esquivel, spokeswoman for the Iowa Secretary of State's office. “The auditor is working with the vendor and our office to resolve this. This isn't stopping anyone from casting a single vote, but it could have an impact on early results reporting.
