Maumere (Indonesia): Indonesia's Mount Levotobi Laki Laki volcano has erupted with a massive explosion. Due to this, lava-ash is being emitted up to a height of 10 kilometers. This has spread panic among the people. The general public has been prohibited from going around the volcano. On the day of the blast, 9 people also died in this incident. But till now it is spewing lava-ash several meters high. After the explosion, burning lava was still seen on Saturday.
Let us tell you that at least nine people were killed and many were injured in the explosion that took place on November 4 in Mount Levotobi Laki Laki. Its activity has been increasing since Monday's volcanic eruption on Flores island in East Nusa Tenggara province. Authorities alerted people in view of the increasing danger after the volcanic eruption again on Thursday.
Craters from the volcano fell up to a distance of 8 kilometers.
The magnitude of this volcano can also be gauged from the fact that the craters emanating from it have fallen up to a distance of 8 kilometers. Hadi Wijaya, head of the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation, told a news conference that lava 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) high spewed out of the volcano on Friday. Vijaya said material ejected from the volcano on Friday spewed material up to 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the crater. These included smoldering stones, lava, and small amounts of hot gravel and ash. The agency that monitors volcanic activity in the country said there were no casualties reported in the latest volcanic eruption. (AP)
