The Athens Institute of Geodynamics has informed that the earthquake on Sunday occurred off the coast of the Chalkidiki Peninsula, about 40 kilometers south-east of Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki. The first shock of the earthquake occurred at 7:03 pm local time. At the same time, the second shock occurred after about 4 minutes. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 15.9 kilometers underground.
