Wilmington (USA): The bilateral talks between PM Modi and President Joe Biden in Greenville, Delaware, included the issue of deepening the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership as well as the Russia-Ukraine war and the Gaza conflict. During this, there was also a discussion on finding ways for its peaceful resolution. During this, US President Joe Biden's meeting with PM Modi was warm. Biden said that the India-US partnership is stronger, closer and most dynamic than at any time in history.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Quad summit here to review and identify new ways to further deepen the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership. “A special start to an important visit. President Joe Biden warmly welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Greenville, Delaware,” the Prime Minister's Office said in a post on 'X'. Biden welcomed Modi at his residence in Wilmington, Delaware and the two leaders hugged each other. After this, Biden took Modi inside his house holding his hand. After the meeting was over, he also came to drop PM Modi outside the house.

The Ministry of External Affairs called the visit important

“A warm and special start to an important visit. In a special gesture, Joe Biden hosted PM Narendra Modi at his residence. PM Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by Joe Biden in Greenville, Delaware ahead of their bilateral meeting,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on 'X'. In his statement in Delhi before leaving for the US, Modi had said, “My meeting with President Biden will give us an opportunity to review and identify new ways to further deepen the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good.” Modi is accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

After the bilateral talks, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “I thank President Biden for hosting me at his residence in Greenville, Delaware. Our talks were extremely fruitful. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to discuss regional and global issues.”

Here PM Modi will now participate in the Quad Summit. After this, from Wilmington, Modi will go to New York where he will attend an Indian community event in Long Island on September 22. The next day he is scheduled to attend a conference of the United Nations General Assembly. Other programs of the Prime Minister include attending an event of the Indian diaspora in Long Island and participating in a round table meeting with CEOs of American companies working on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors.
