Seoul: South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has announced to end the martial law imposed in the country late on Tuesday night. This decision was taken after huge opposition and voting in the Parliament. During the voting, 190 out of 300 MPs unanimously refused to accept martial law. After the declaration of martial law, people came out on the streets. Army tanks were seen roaming in the streets of Seoul. Due to worsening circumstances and continuous protests, the President withdrew his decision.

Ruling and opposition parties protested

Ever since martial law was implemented in the country, the ruling and opposition parties came out against it. Many leaders of the ruling party also called it undemocratic and unconstitutional. At the same time, the leader of the President's own party, Han Dong-hoon, also openly criticized this decision and also took part in the voting in the Parliament.

Thousands of people took to the streets demanding restoration of the democratic system. However, while clarifying his move, President Yoon said that this decision was taken to crush anti-national forces.
