Pakistan: China angry over the death of its citizens in Karachi bomb blast, know what it said – Top News Bulletin

Karachi: Two Chinese workers have been killed and at least 17 others injured in a massive explosion outside Karachi airport in Pakistan on Sunday. According to officials, a tanker exploded outside Pakistan's largest airport. A statement has been issued by the Chinese Embassy after this attack targeting Chinese citizens. The Chinese Embassy issued a statement saying that the convoy carrying Chinese employees of 'Port Qasim Electric Power (Private) Limited Company' was attacked at around 11 pm, in which three Chinese citizens were killed and another was injured.

Work started on emergency plan

After the blast, the Chinese Embassy and Consulate General in Pakistan have started working on an emergency plan. China's statement described the blast as a 'terrorist attack' and said that China is working with Pakistan to deal with the situation after it. China has demanded an investigation into the attack so that the culprits can be caught. Chinese citizens in Pakistan have been asked to take security precautions. “The Chinese Embassy and Consulate General in Pakistan strongly condemn this terrorist attack,” the statement said.

Chinese citizens were targeted

There are thousands of Chinese employees in Pakistan, most of whom are working for China's billion-dollar 'Belt and Road' project which has been started to connect South and Central Asia with the Chinese capital. The blast was targeted at Chinese citizens. The explosion took place when the car was going towards the airport. The explosion was so severe that nearby vehicles were also hit by it. Along with the explosion, many cars caught fire.
