This crown was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When PM Modi visited Bangladesh in March 2021, he offered this crown after visiting the goddess at Jeshoreshwari temple. At present, the police is investigating the matter.

It is believed that this incident of crown theft took place on Thursday around 2 to 2.30 pm, when priest Dilip Mukherjee went to his home after performing puja during the day. Later, when the cleaning staff saw, the crown was missing from the head of Goddess Kali. After this the police was informed about the incident.
Police is investigating
After the theft of the crown from the temple, the police has started investigation. The police are continuously searching for the thief. Inspector Taijul Islam of Shyamnagar police station said, “We are checking the CCTV of the temple to identify the thief.”
