One person died in a shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama state of America. 16 people are said to be injured in this incident. According to officials, 12 of those injured were shot. The incident took place at a place on the university campus, where students and others were present. Police are investigating the matter and efforts are being made to find out the reason for the incident. Due to this firing, there is an atmosphere of tension in the university and surrounding areas.
Death of 18 year old youth
The shooter has been arrested. Jacquez Myrick, 25, of Montgomery, was taken into custody as he left the scene of the campus shooting and was found in possession of a handgun with a machine gun attached to it, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said. The agency said in a statement that Myrick faces federal charges of possessing a machine gun. The 18-year-old man who died was not a university student, but some of the injured were students, officials said.

Tuskegee City Police Chief Patrick Mardis said the injured included a female student who was shot in the stomach and a male student who was shot in the arm. Mardis said city police were responding to an unrelated double shooting off campus when officers received a call about a shooting at the university's campus apartments in West Commons.
