Washington: Democratic candidate for US President Kamala Harris has distanced herself from President Joe Biden's controversial statement in which he called supporters of his Republican rival Donald Trump 'trash'. Vice President Harris told reporters on Wednesday, “I think first of all (let me tell you) he has clarified his comments.” Let me also be clear: I completely disagree with criticizing people based on who they vote for. You heard my speech last night and have heard (my speech) consistently throughout my career,” she said. “I believe the work I do is to represent all people, whether it's my Support or not. As President of the United States, I will be President for all Americans, whether you vote for me or not.”
Biden had said this
Joe Biden said during an election campaign, “The garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.” “Just a few days ago, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage,” he said. Well, I want to tell you something. I don't know that Puerto Rican. The Puerto Rico I know is in my home state of Delaware and the people there are nice, civilized, respectful.”
