The march against 'Genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh' is being organized by Hindu Action near the White House on Monday, December 9, while 'Stop the Genocide: Save Hindu Lives in Bangladesh' ( Stop the Genocide: Save the Lives of Hindus in Bangladesh) is being organized by eminent community leaders in Chicago on Sunday, December 8.
'Genocide is a crime against humanity'
“The situation in Bangladesh is not just a regional crisis, it is a humanitarian disaster with global implications,” said WWDotStopHinduGenocide, a group formed by Indian-Americans to document crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh over the past several months. Genocide is a crime against humanity. It is the responsibility of the international community to intervene, protect and prevent further atrocities.'' It said brutality against Hindus has increased to shocking levels in recent times.
Appeal made to Biden-Harris
Utsav Chakraborty, executive director of 'Hindu Action', called on the outgoing Biden-Harris administration of the US to take all possible measures to prevent further escalation of violence by radical Islamic extremists against Hindus in Bangladesh. There have been more than 200 attacks on the minority Hindu community in more than 50 districts in Muslim-majority Bangladesh since the Sheikh Hasina government was ousted from power on August 5.
