Former PM Imran sent a strange invitation to Jaishankar who was going to Pakistan for SCO Summit – Top News Bulletin

Islamabad: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has accepted the neighboring country's invitation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in Pakistan on October 15 and 16. But now another strange invitation has come to the Foreign Minister from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. In this, PTI leaders have invited Jaishankar to join the protest against the Pakistan government. Everyone is surprised by this proposal of PTI.

Let us tell you that a PTI leader has invited External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to “join” the party’s protest in Islamabad against the government of Pakistan. Jaishankar is going to Pakistan on October 15 and 16 to attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO-CHG). Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's Information Advisor Muhammad Ali Saif, in a Geo News program on Friday, invited External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to participate in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests.

Know why Jaishankar was invited

Responding to a question, Saif said, “PTI will invite India's External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to come and join the party's protest. Talk to our people and see that Pakistan has a strong democracy, where everyone has the right to protest.” He also said that foreign delegations would be happy to see the party protest. PTI is protesting and claiming that the government should follow the Constitution and insist on the independence of the judiciary. The party is also demanding the release of its 72-year-old founder Khan, who has been jailed for more than a year. Khan has been in jail since his arrest on August 5, 2023.

Khan, facing dozens of cases, has been convicted in some of them. Pakistan Army troops were deployed in Islamabad to ensure security ahead of the protest called by Khan at D-Chowk on Saturday. The army will remain in the city from October 5 to 17 to maintain law and order for the upcoming SCO. Authorities have taken stringent measures to prevent PTI workers from entering Islamabad, blocking all highways leading to the city and suspending mobile phone services. (Language)
