UK Parliament Sikh MP Lord Indrajit Singh Portrait: Lord Inderjit Singh, the first turban-wearing Sikh MP of UK and Europe, has received a big honour. In recognition of his services and contribution to the nation, his portrait has been installed in the Bishop's Corridor of the House of Lords of the British Parliament in Westminster, London. This is the first time that a portrait of a Sikh has been displayed in the British Parliament. Commenting on this achievement, Global Sikh Council (GSC) Treasurer Harsaran Singh said that the installation of the portrait of Lord Inderjit Singh, a turbaned Sikh in the UK Parliament, in the House of Lords is a matter of pride for the entire Sikh community and the Punjabi community. GSC Vice President Ram Singh said that this is the first time that a Gursikh's portrait will adorn the walls of the historic UK Parliament. Council Vice President Paramjit Singh Bedi from America said that it is a matter of great honor for all Sikhs that Lord Singh's achievements and selfless services have been recognized at the highest level.
