NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, who has been in space for almost five months. He extended warm Diwali wishes to those celebrating the festival in the United States of America (USA) and across the world. In a video message shared from the International Space Station (ISS), the Indian-origin astronaut said that this year she has got a unique opportunity to celebrate Diwali from 260 miles above the Earth.

Sunita Williams said in the video message, 'Best wishes from ISS. I would like to wish a very happy Diwali to the White House and everyone celebrating today around the world. This year I have got the unique opportunity to celebrate Diwali on ISS, 260 miles above the Earth. My father has maintained our cultural roots by teaching us about Diwali and other Indian festivals.

Williams emphasized the festival's message of hope and renewal, saying Diwali is a time of joy because goodness prevails in the world.

Sunita Williams is in space since June 6
Let us tell you that Sunita Williams along with her fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore has been on the ISS since June. The two made their first crewed flight on June 5 aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, which arrived at the space station on June 6.
Both the travelers will come in February next year
The decision was made to return Starliner to Earth without its crew. The spacecraft returned successfully on September 6. In August, NASA said it was too risky to return Wilmore and Williams to Earth. Wilmore and Williams have continued their work formally as part of the campaign. Both will return in February next year.
