Beijing: China has established its first atmospheric monitoring station in Antarctica. China is strengthening its presence there by building this research station in this icy and resource-rich southern continent. According to the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), work has started on Sunday at the Zhongshan National Atmospheric Background Administration (CMA) located in the 'Larsman Hills' of East Antarctica.
Information related to atmosphere structure will be available
“The station will conduct continuous and long-term operation overviews of changes in concentrations of atmospheric components over Antarctica,” an article published Monday on the CMA website said. Along with this, it will also provide reliable data and information about the average state of characteristics related to atmospheric structure in the region.
