Ottawa: Canada's Trudeau government has once again announced tightening of its immigration rules. The Government of Canada has decided to change the policy related to immigrants for the next two years. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “We are going to reduce the number of immigrants coming to Canada over the next two years, this is a temporary decision, which has been taken to stop our population growth and to stimulate our economy. “
'There is a need to stabilize the population'
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said that immigrants have made a major contribution in recovering from the loss and decline in our economy due to the restrictions imposed during the Corona period, but now the time has come to make adjustments. Trudeau said Canada needs to stabilize its population. “Our system has to work right for all Canadians,” he said.

Plan from 2025 to 2027
Under the new immigration policy in Canada, only 3,95,000 people will be given permanent residency in 2025. It will see an even greater decline in the coming years. There is a plan to give permanent residency to only 3,80,000 people in 2026 and then 3,65,000 people in 2027. It is clear from this that Canada is now cutting down on giving PR.
Population has increased at record level
Canada's national statistics agency said the country's population is projected to grow 3.2 per cent from 2023 to 2024, the largest annual increase since 1957. Now the population here has reached 41 million. Immigrants coming from outside have contributed to this increase in population.
