Voting begins for student union elections in Delhi University


New Delhi . Voting for Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections has started. Voting has started in various colleges and departments of Delhi University from Friday morning.

During this period, along with the administration, the police have also made tight security arrangements outside the colleges and departments. The main contest in these elections is between ABVP and NSUI. However, Leftbacked student organizations have also fielded their candidates in the DUSU elections.

Student organizations have appealed to ensure fairness and transparency in the Delhi University Students Union elections. The National Students Union of India (NSUI) has appealed to the Delhi University administration and Delhi Police to ensure fairness and transparency in the student union elections.

Voting has started in the colleges from morning while in evening colleges, voting will start in the second session from today itself. The results of the voting were to be declared on September 28, however at present the court has put a stay on the counting of votes. The court says that the results of the election will not be announced until the candidates contesting the student union elections remove their posters and hoardings from public places.

NSUI has appealed to the university administration, local authorities and Delhi Police to adopt a fair attitude during the elections. NSUI national president Varun Chaudhary says his organization is committed to making Delhi University a violencefree campus.

Whereas ABVP says that NSUI is playing with the safety of the students of Delhi University. The Student Council alleged that the students were being lured.

NSUI has nominated Raunak Khatri for the post of President, Yash Nandal for the post of Vice President, Namrata Jeff Meena for the post of Secretary and Lokesh Chaudhary for the post of Joint Secretary in the student union elections.

Voting for Delhi University Students Union elections is taking place on September 27. In the student union elections held last year 2023, ABVP had won three out of four seats in Delhi University. ABVP performed brilliantly and won the post of President, Secretary and Joint Secretary, while NSUI managed to win the post of Vice President.

Student Council has nominated Rishabh Chaudhary for the post of President, Bhanu Pratap Singh for the post of Vice President, Mitravinda Karanwal for the post of Secretary and Aman Kapasia for the post of Joint Secretary.
