Chittorgarh. Taking major action against illegal arms smuggling, Gangrar police station has arrested three arms smugglers from Punjab and seized four pistols with magazines and four additional magazines from their possession. The arrested accused were caught carrying weapons in a bus going from Chittorgarh to Bikaner. Police have registered the case and started interrogating the accused. The accused told to buy the pistol from Khandwa in MP for Rs 35 to 45 thousand. All the accused, being members of the gang, bought it for their own protection and to sell elsewhere.
Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi said that under the direction of ASP Sarita Singh and DSP Gangrar Prabhulal Kumawat, Police Station Officer Gangrar Phoolchand Taylor P.N. took action against those smuggling illegal weapons in the district. Japta ASI Balwant Singh, ASI Rameshchandra, Head Inspector of the police station. Pramod Kumar, Kani. Pradeep Kumar was patrolling the police station area along with Dinesh, Ridhikaran, Bharat Kumar and Rohitashv. Meanwhile, police received information that some persons were carrying weapons in a sleeper bus going from Chittorgarh to Bikaner. If the information is reliable, then the sleeper bus going from Chittorgarh to Bikaner was stopped near the toll naka and according to the description given by the informer, three persons, 27 year old Gulabsingh son of Sukhdevsingh Majbi Sikh, resident of Kamoke police station Vyas of Amritsar district of Punjab, Raganangal police station of Gurdaspur district of Punjab. 20 year old Anmolpreet Singh son of Baljit Singh Majbi Sikh, resident of Achal and 20 year old Sahib Jangroopsih son of Vikramjit Singh Majbi Sikh, resident of Maheta Chowk police station of Amritsar district were searched. During the search conducted by the police, four illegal pistols with magazines and four additional magazines were found in the bag in his possession. Four illegal pistols with magazines and four additional magazines were seized and the accused Gulab Singh, Anmolpreet Singh and Sahib Jagroopsingh were arrested.
During preliminary interrogation of the police, it was revealed that cases of murder and assault were registered against Gulab Singh and cases of NDPS Act and Arms Act were registered against Sahib Jagroopsingh. During police interrogation, the accused told that they had purchased all four pistols and magazines from Khandwa near Indore for their own security and to sell them elsewhere. He had bought one 30 bore pistol for Rs 45 thousand and three 32 bore pistols for Rs 35 thousand each, which he was taking with him to his village. Investigation is going on regarding the purchase and sale of illegal weapons from the accused.
