It is being told that accused Anuj and one of his companions had an encounter with the Lucknow STF team in Unnao. In this encounter, Anuj was shot in the head, while his companion managed to escape by jumping from the car.
After this, the police called 108 and took the accused to the hospital in an ambulance. The doctors declared him dead in the hospital. The police have sent his body to the morgue.
In this entire case, Unnao ASP Akhilesh Singh said, “In connection with the robbery and dacoity related to Bharat Jewelers in Sultanpur on August 28, the accused had a shootout with the STF Lucknow team at Achalganj police station, Unnao on Monday (September 23). In this encounter, one miscreant was injured while the other managed to escape. The injured person has been identified as Anuj Pratap Singh son of Dharamraj Singh resident of village Janakpur, Mohanganj police station, Amethi district. The injured miscreant was carrying a bounty of one lakh rupees. The injured miscreant was sent to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. After primary treatment in the hospital, he was sent to the district hospital Unnao. The accused was declared dead by the doctor in the district hospital. ”

Earlier on September 5, another accused Mangesh Yadav was also killed in an encounter by the police. Mangesh and one of his associates had an encounter with the STF.
