The team of Surajpol police station of the district has arrested the main leader of the gang, Uday Lal, son of Gangaram, resident of Purbia Mohalla, Bhadsoda district, Chittorgarh, in the case of stealing sandalwood trees by taking the guard of Gulab Bagh hostage on the night of 17th July. Police have already arrested two accused in the case.
SP Yogesh Goyal said that on July 17, Gulab Bagh guard Dashrath Soni reported that both I and my colleague Rajkumar Kumawat were on duty that night. At around 3.20 in the morning, six unknown persons came with a cloth tied over their mouth. Both of us were taken hostage at the point of sharp weapons, threatened, taken to the back side of the main gate and tied. The miscreants cut down two big sandalwood trees from near the parking lot and took them away. After registering the case on the report, investigation was started.
According to the instructions of SP Goyal, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Umesh Ojha and CO Chhagan Purohit and under the leadership of ASHO Ratan Singh Chauhan, the team formed earlier arrested 02 accused, the vehicle used at the time of the incident and the stolen sandalwood trees were recovered. Were and the search for the remaining accused in the case was going on.
While searching for the remaining accused, the team arrested Uday Lal, the historysheeter of Bhadsoda police station, who was the main mastermind of the said incident and had taken the guard hostage, with the help of intelligence and technical help and after investigation, he was sent to judicial custody. About 30 cases of murder, robbery, dacoity, theft, extortion, kidnapping, theft etc. have been registered against the accused in Duganpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Kota and Bhilwara districts and challan has been issued in the court. The accused was out on bail in a murder case.
