The accused, who was absconding for 6 years in drug smuggling and had a reward of Rs. 10,000 on his head, has been arrested


Chittorgarh. In Chittorgarh, the Kotwali Nimbahera police station arrested Vishnu Nagda, son of Bhagat Ram Nagda (36), a resident of Rewali Deoli police station Neemuch City, Madhya Pradesh, who was absconding for 6 years in the case of smuggling of 71 kg of illegal opium and had a reward of Rs. 10,000 on his head.

SP Sudhir Joshi said that on 24 April 2018, the police of Nimbahera police station had seized 71 kg of illegal opium from a Creta car at a blockade on KalyanpuraKelly Road and arrested the accused Chauthmal. Vishnu Nagda, accused of supplying opium to the accused Chauthmal, was absconding at that time. A reward of Rs 10,000 was announced on him.

Taking the matter seriously as the accused who was absconding for a long time was not arrested, SP Joshi formed a team of ASI Suraj Kumar and constable Devendra Virendra to search for Vishnu Nagda under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Parvat Singh and CO Badri Prasad and under the leadership of SHO Ramsumer. The formed team was continuously searching for the accused Vishnu Nagda in Mandsaur, Neemuch and Nahargarh.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, June 19, ASI Suraj Kumar received information from an informer that Vishnu Nagda has come to Neemuch today and will be coming to Harkiya Khal Phanta in a short while to go towards Mandsaur. On receiving the information, the police team immediately reached Harkiya Khal Phanta, where a person matching the description given by the informer was seen waiting for the bus.

On seeing the police in uniform, the man started running away. ASI Suraj Kumar and his team surrounded him and caught him. When asked his name and address, he told his name as Vishnu Nagda. Accused Vishnu did not use mobile or any other device to avoid arrest and used to live in disguise in Mandsaur and Ujjain. For the arrest of the accused, Nimbahera Police kept a watch on his hideouts for several days and activated informers.
