Chittorgarh,Shambhupur police station of the district, while taking action against illegal drug smuggling, has seized 101.140 kg of opium powder stolen from a car. Search is on for the smuggler who fled after leaving the vehicle on the spot after being chased by the police.
SP Sudhir Joshi said that under the direction of ASP Chittorgarh Sarita Singh and supervision of DSP Bhadesar Anil Sharma, Police Station Officer Shambhupura Thakra Ram May Japta ASI Raghuveer Singh, Sakendra Singh, Constables Kamlesh, Jagdish, Prakash, Naresh, Shravan and Pushpendra Singh patrolling the railway line border for local and special act action. While trying to stop a car coming from the front, the said driver drove his vehicle away on the left side of the road. When the police chased, the driver left the car on the spot and ran away into the fields in the dark. A lot of searching was done but the driver of the vehicle could not be found in the darkness of the night.
When the car was searched by the police, 101 kg 140 grams of illegal opium powder was found inside five black plastic bags kept above and below the rear seat of the said car. The car used in stealing and smuggling illegal opium doda has been seized and a case has been registered at Shambhupura police station and investigation is being done.
