Jaipur. Taking an important action, the team of Pratapnagar police station has arrested criminal Himanshu Khati with illegal weapons carrying a reward of Rs 10,000. Police recovered a countrymade pistol and four live cartridges from his possession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur (East) Mrs. Tejaswani Gautam said that instructions were given by Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph to conduct a special campaign against criminals of firearms. Under this campaign, all the officers of Jaipur Commissionerate were directed to seize illegal firearms and take effective action against the criminals.
Under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Asharam Chaudhary, a police team was formed. This team included Avinash Kumar, Shankar Lal, Hukam Singh, Ganesh Kani, Rajesh Kumar Kani.
The team, following continuous surveillance and acting on the information of the informer, caught Himanshu Khati from Hotel Hari Inn located at Rana Sanga Sarg, Pratap Nagar on 20 October 2024. During the search, an illegal countrymade pistol and four live cartridges were found with him.
The arrested accused Himanshu Khati is a hardcore criminal and a historysheeter of Banipark Jaipur West police station. He has been arrested several times in the past for possessing illegal weapons. Himanshu told the police that he had purchased this illegal weapon from Sanjay Sharma of Haryana. He is actively running a gang in which many boys are associated.
The police registered a case against the accused under Section 325 (15) (a) (7) Arms Act under case number 8912024 and started investigation. He was produced in the court, from where he was sent on twoday police remand for further investigation.
