Pickup loaded with drugs worth Rs 48 lakh 75 thousand caught, 325 kg opium powder seized


Jaipur. On the information of Anti Gangster Task Force Police Headquarters, the team of Chhoti Sadri police station of Pratapgarh district has seized 325 kg of illegal drug opium doda powder filled in 19 bags from a pickup with Madhya Pradesh number. The value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs 48.75 lakh. Police have found a mobile phone from the pickup, on the basis of which the smugglers who fled from the spot are being searched.

Additional Director General of Police Anti Gangster Task Force Dinesh MN said that under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Yogesh Yadav and Additional Superintendent of Police Asha Ram Choudhary, teams have been sent from the Police Headquarters to different cities of the state, which are secretly searching for wanted criminals and drugs. Gathering information about liquor and arms smugglers etc., they are monitoring them.

During intelligence collection, the AGTF team that went to Pratapgarh on Saturday got information that smugglers in a pickup with Madhya Pradesh number would go towards Nimbahera via Chhoti Sadri with illegal doda powder. The team further informed this to Chhoti Sadri police station. At around 1:00 in the night, the team of Chhoti Sadri police station saw a pickup coming towards the highway road, a little ahead of Karunda intersection, in which two persons were traveling.

Seeing the police vehicle, the smugglers in the pickup left the vehicle on the spot and started running on foot towards Karunda. The police team chased the two fleeing persons, but the smugglers disappeared from sight in the darkness through hills and ravines. While searching the pickup, the police found a mobile phone of smugglers and 325 kg of illegal doda powder filled in 19 bags. Illegal opium, doda powder, pickup and mobile have been seized and a case has been filed with NDPS and the absconding smugglers are being searched.

In this action taken under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Asaram Chaudhary, the special role of Head Constable Mahavir Singh and Constable Narendra Patidar of AGTFA team and the commendable contribution of Head Constable Sohan Yadav and Constable Manoj Yadav were commendable. SHO Tejkaran Singh from Chhotisadri police station was included in the team.
