Is Harris Jayaraj planning to break his curse in Tollywood?

After failing to impress with his soundtrack in 'Extra Ordinary Man', noted Tamil composer Harris Jayaraj is making another Telugu film with young actor Naga Shauya and will try his luck once again in Telugu films. “Harris should aim to deliver big hits and prove his mettle in Telugu as well,” says a director and adds, “He is a talented musician but he is failing to connect with Telugu music listeners and for that he needs to live up to expectations this time,” he adds.

“No doubt, the great composer rendered his tunes in Telugu films like ‘Orange’ and ‘Vasu’ and they still linger in the minds of music lovers,” he notes and adds, “He could not put his heart and soul into his last film ‘Extra Ordinary Man’ as it did not have a heart-wrenching story for a composer who could render catchy tunes. He should avoid such films or it would damage his image.”

Harris Jayaraj has become very popular among Telugu listeners with bold numbers like ‘Cheliya Cheliya’ from ‘Gharshana’ and later rocked in Telugu film ‘Orange’ starring Ram Charan and Genelia. “His soulful numbers like ‘Nenu Nuvantu’ and ‘Hello Ramante’ broke the music charts for many years. His work in other Telugu films ‘Vasu’ also received appreciation for catchy numbers like ‘Pataku Pranam’ and ‘Sporty Boyz’ to win the love of Telugu music lovers,” he adds.

With other top Tamil composers like AR Rahman and Anirudh coming to Tollywood, Harris Jayaraj has to step up his game and deliver a sensational album or he will lose his popularity. “Harris has to prove himself this time,” he concludes.
