Incident of car and equipment theft from auto garage solved, two interstate accused arrested


Chittorgarh. The police team of Nimbahera police station of Chittorgarh district solved the case of theft in an auto garage on August 29 and arrested two interstate accused Kailash Mali, son of Lehru Lal (31), resident of Mangrol Surat, Gujarat, currently residing in Devgarh, Rajsamand and Vikas alias Bunty Meena, son of Sardar Singh, resident of Anand Nagar, Dewas, Madhya Pradesh and seized the stolen car and tools.

SP Sudhir Joshi said that on August 29, complainant Yasin reported that he has an auto garage in front of CK Garden on Udaipur Road. Last night, unknown thieves broke the lock of the shop and stole a customer's car parked inside and the equipment and accessories used in the garage. A team was formed under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Parvat Singh and CO Badrilal Rao and under the leadership of SHO Ram Sumer Meena to investigate the incident.

The formed team scanned more than 250 CCTV footages of the roads leading to the crime scene. In which two suspicious persons were seen. The police team continuously searched for the accused for 12 days by sending their photos to reliable people and informers. During this time ASI Suraj Kumar received information from an informer that one of the accused seen in the CCTV footage is Kailash Mali.

On this Kailash Mali was detained and questioned, he told that his friend Vikas alias Bunty Meena was also involved in the incident. He got acquainted with Vikas while working together in a factory in Surat, Gujarat and both of them were looking for a stolen vehicle for smuggling liquor. On this his friend Vikas alias Bunty Meena was detained and both the accused were arrested. Based on their information the stolen car and a big jack, two horse jacks, a vacuum machine, three batteries, two big tools and two small tool boxes were seized.

During interrogation it was revealed that both the accused needed a stolen vehicle for liquor smuggling. While going from Dewas in Madhya Pradesh to Bhilwara, they walked on foot during the day and did recce of vehicles parked at deserted places. After that, they found out the way to enter the garage and stole the car and other equipment kept in the garage along with its accessories. To escape, the accused did not cross any toll post till Devgarh in Rajsamand and even during the recce, they kept their phones in flight mode or switched off.

Both the arrested accused are of cunning nature. Among them, Kailash Mali has more than half a dozen cases of theft and burglary registered against him and four cases are registered against Bunty alias Vikas Meena. Both the accused have been produced in the court and taken on remand. They are being questioned about other incidents of theft, in which there is every possibility of more incidents being revealed.
