Lucknow . Now Yogi government has come forward to help Dalit student Atul Kumar, resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, to get admission in IIT Dhanbad. Under the state scholarship scheme, the Social Welfare Department will bear the entire fees charged in IIT through scholarship, so that Atul's education can be ensured.
Rajendra Kumar, a resident of Titoda village of Khatauli tehsil of Muzaffarnagar district, is a daily wage laborer, the admission of his son Atul Kumar in IIT Dhanbad was stopped due to nonpayment of admission fees.
Atul had performed well in the IIT JEE exam and got a seat in the Electronics Engineering branch, but due to not being able to deposit the fees by June 24, the admission got stuck.
After making all efforts the family moved the Supreme Court. After the intervention of the Supreme Court and the matter coming to the notice of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government decided to provide full help to the student.
Giving immediate instructions, the Chief Minister asked to ensure all possible help for Atul. Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun spoke to the student's family over phone and assured that the state government will provide financial assistance for the entire education of the student.
At the same time, Yogi government has also contacted IIT Dhanbad and taken necessary steps to complete the admission process. Under the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, not only the initial fees of the student Atul will be deposited, but the fees incurred during the entire four years of study will also be paid through scholarship.
