Ghaziabad. There has been an encounter between Ghaziabad Police and mobile snatching criminals. In this, a miscreant has been injured after being shot by the police. He has been arrested. While the other one has absconded, the police is combing to search for him.
ACP Ritesh Tripathi has said that Ghaziabad Ghantaghar Kotwali Police has had an encounter with two miscreants who were snatching mobile phones. One of the miscreants got injured after being shot in the leg and the other miscreant escaped into the bushes.
ACP has told that in the police station area, a person named Subodh had informed that when he came to Shaheed Nagar metro station from Delhi, he called his son to come and take him from there. Then the miscreants came in a black Apache, snatched the phone and ran away. After this, the same miscreants also snatch the phone from another person who was talking on the phone at Hapur Tiraha.
The police had registered a case in both the cases and started investigation. After this, on October 25, the informer informed the police that the person involved in mobile snatching was going towards Vijayanagar from Nandgram. The police laid a trap and started checking. Within a short time, two persons riding on an Apache were seen coming. When the police signaled them to stop, instead of stopping, they started running away on the bike on another unpaved road and even opened fire on the police team.
After this, the police also retaliated and one of the miscreants got injured by being shot in the leg and his other accomplice escaped. When the police interrogated the arrested criminal, they recovered four mobile phones from him. It also contains both the mobile phones which they had snatched from two persons one after the other. They had also looted the recovered bike from Delhi. Police are investigating his old criminal history.
