Doctor shot dead in Delhi; AAP blames Center and LG for increasing crime


New Delhi . A doctor was shot dead at a private nursing home in Kalindi Kunj area of ​​Delhi's Jaitpur on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Dr. Javed Akhtar (55). He was a Unani doctor at Neema Hospital. Police said that after receiving information about the incident, District Crime Team and FSL Rohini team reached the spot.

Hospital staff told police that two minors came to the medical facility and demanded a change of dressing at 1 am. One of the two had been treated for a leg injury a day earlier.

The employees said that later the minors said that they needed a medicine prescription and they went to the cabin of Dr. Javed Akhtar, after which the sound of gunshot was heard. When they reached the doctor's cabin, they found him dead. Compounder Abid of Neema Hospital said that Dr. Akhtar was shot in the head.

Police said it could be a case of targeted killing. CCTV footage is being examined to identify the suspects. A campaign has been started to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj hit out at the central government and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, saying, “Delhi has become the crime capital. Gangsters are working with ease. There is extortion, firing and killings on a daily basis.” The Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor have failed in their basic work for Delhi.”

Saurabh Bhardwaj further said, “Bullets are being fired every day in Delhi. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is completely silent, neither did he give time to meet the MLAs nor visited any police station. Delhi Police reports to the Centre. Yes, not to Delhi Government.
