Varanasi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reached Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Here Dharmendra Pradhan attended the 13th convocation of IIT BHU as the chief guest. During this period, the Union Minister honored 1954 students by giving them degrees.
While talking to the media here, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that IIT BHU is a very ancient qualitative institution of the country. Today I had the privilege of participating in the 13th convocation. IIT BHU has its own glorious past. The Government of India is making every effort to fully implement the 'National Education Policy 2020'. An ambitious plan has been taken up to create 50 research parks in the country on the campuses of IITs, NITs and AISERs. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge of the country in 2014, there were only a handful of startups in the country. Today this number has crossed 1 lakh 40 thousand.
Most of these institutions and startups emerge from some or the other academic institution of India. Meanwhile, the National Research Foundation has also been formed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is its president. To give more emphasis to research in the country, to give national priority to 'Research Public Welfare', to meet the goal of developed India by 2047, in this country of youth and bright students, how can we give national priority to research? Government of India's emphasis is on how to bring it, how to prioritize it, there should be innovation in it, there should be new wealth creation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading it from the front. IIT BHU is also becoming its beneficiary. Today we are also going to lay the foundation stone of Shatabdi Research Building here at a cost of Rs 400 crore. This will meet the needs of India and the needs of the world in the coming days.
