New Delhi . The Modi government at the Center will open 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country. A large number of students will benefit from this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called it a big step taken in the interest of students.
Regarding opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on the social media platform 'X', “To make school education as accessible as possible, our government has taken another big decision. Under this, 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas have been opened across the country. While this step will benefit a large number of students, many new employment opportunities will also be created.
In fact, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by PM Modi has approved the opening of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas under civildefense sector across the country and expansion of one existing KV i.e. KV Shivamogga, District Shivamogga, Karnataka. Under this Kendriya Vidyalaya Yojana (Central Sector Scheme), the number of Central Government employees can be increased by adding two additional sections in all the classes.
A total expenditure of about Rs 5872.08 crore will be spent over a period of eight years from 202526 for the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and expansion of KV Shivamogga. At present, there are 1,256 Kendriya Vidyalayas operating in the country, which also includes three foreign Kendriya Vidyalayas – Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran. About 13.56 lakh students study in it.
About 960 students will study in a Kendriya Vidyalaya to be prepared under this scheme. Thus, about 82,560 students from 86 Kendriya Vidyalayas will be benefited. A fully prepared Kendriya Vidyalaya will provide employment to about 63 persons. At the same time, 33 new posts of one KV Shivamogga will be added. In this situation, a total of 5,388 direct permanent employment opportunities will be created.
Let us tell you that the Government of India had approved the Scheme of Kendriya Vidyalayas in November 1962, so that educational facilities of uniform standard could be provided throughout the country for the children of transferred Central GovernmentDefence employees. As a result, “Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan” was started as a unit of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Initially, 20 regimental schools in defense stations were taken over as Kendriya Vidyalayas during the academic year 196364.
