In the case of embezzlement of crores of rupees in Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society and its related bank The Jalore Central Cooperative Bank branch Sayla by the team of Bishangarh police station of Jalore district, the then administrator of Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society and The Jalore Central Cooperative Bank- Asharam Meghwal, son of Kistura Ram (49), resident of Asana police station, Sayla and the then assistant administrator of Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society, Champa Lal Jinagar, son of Gavra Ram (37), resident of Balwada police station Bishangarh, loan supervisor of Operative Bank branch Sayla, have been arrested.
SP Gyan Chandra Yadav said that on October 02, 2022, Senior Manager of Jalore Central Cooperative Bank Limited, Jalore, Bhuraram Punchhal reported that the loan credit limit of the farmers coming under Gram Seva Cooperative Society will be determined according to the crop cycle. After approval from the credit limit committee level, the loan is sanctioned from the concerned branch of the bank through the Halka officer. Similarly, the Gram Seva Cooperative Societies of Balwada, Keshavna, Elana, Bishangarh, Mandwala also sanctioned loans after determining the credit limit of the farmers.
Out of this, the administrator, assistant administrator of Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society and the branch manager, cashier etc. of Bank DiJalore Central Cooperative Society related to these societies, without determining the credit limit, and by increasing or decreasing the land, have been paying the loan. Even after repeating the loan without the knowledge of the farmer and sanctioning the loan without application, crores of rupees have been embezzled.
After that, the state government has caused a financial loss of crores of rupees by waiving off loans to ineligible persons under the loan waiver scheme of the state government, Rajasthan Cooperative Crop Loan Waiver Scheme- 2018 and Rajasthan Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme- 2019. On the report, investigation was started by registering a case number at Bishangarh police station.
SP Yadav said that under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Mota Ram Godara and CO Gautam Kumar Jain and the leadership of SHO Panna Lal Sub Inspector, under the campaign being run in the district for crime prevention, arrest of criminals and arrest of wanted criminals in property related crimes. After research by the team constituted in 2015, Asha Ram Meghwal, the then administrator of Gram Seva Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society and loan supervisor of The Jalore Central Cooperative Bank branch Sayla and Champalal Jinagar, the then assistant administrator of Balwada Gram Seva Cooperative Society, along with his colleagues. Both of them were arrested on Thursday after they were found to have embezzled approximately Rs 5 crore.
Out of these, two separate cases of embezzlement have been registered against the accused Asha Ram Meghwal in Sayla police station and Jalore police station. Research is being conducted regarding the role of other alleged accused in the case.
