Bihar government's 'Bring MedalGet Job' scheme, till now 342 players have got jobs


Patna . So far, 342 players have been given jobs under the 'Bring MedalGet a Job' scheme launched by the Bihar government in 2010. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced in the year 2010 itself that if players win medals in sports competitions, the government will provide them jobs.

Under this, 33 players in the year 2010, 125 players in the year 2011, 82 players in the year 2015 and 31 players in the year 2020 i.e. 271 players were given clerical jobs. After this, to increase the interest of youth towards sports in the state, the government made 'Bihar Direct Appointment Rules 2023 of Excellent Sportspersons' on the lines of 'Bring Medal, Get Job'. Under this, a provision has been made to give appointment in government departments to excellent players who have won national and international medals in various competitions.

Under the Bring MedalGet Job Scheme in the year 202324, 71 outstanding players were handed over appointment letters for first class government jobs in various government departments. Till now 342 players have been given jobs in Bihar. It is noteworthy that when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was the Railway Minister in the central government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he had made arrangements to provide jobs to sportspersons in the Railways. Under this system, till now hundreds of players from across the country have been given jobs in Railways. On the lines of giving jobs to players in Railways, from the year 2010, government jobs started being given to players who performed excellently in Bihar also.

It was told that 'Bihar Direct Appointment Rules 2023 of outstanding players' have been made on the lines of 'Bring Medal, Get Job'. Under this, players who win medals in national and international sports competitions are being given jobs directly. According to this new rule, players will get a chance to become SDO and DSP if they perform well. Recently, 71 players have been given jobs under this rule, which includes Child Development Project Officer and Block Panchayati Raj Officer. 69 have been given the jobs of Police Sub Inspector, Superintendent in Social Welfare Department and Data Entry Operator and Clerk.

It is noteworthy that sports are being continuously promoted in Bihar. For this, sports facilities are being developed at every level. Stadiums are being constructed at the block level in the state, in which till now the construction work of about 250 stadiums has been completed.
