New Delhi . Registration for the candidates under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme announced in the Union Budget this year is starting from Saturday on the application portal. To apply for this, candidates will have to upload educational documents and other required documents on the website of the Government of India. The government aims to provide internship to the youth in top five hundred companies under this scheme. The government is aiming to provide opportunities to 1 crore youth in the next 5 years under this scheme.
Candidates selected under this scheme will be given Rs 5,000 every month as stipend. It is being told that the concerned company will give Rs 500 to its candidates after checking their attendance and other things. In this, the Government of India will give Rs 4500 from its side. Which will amount to Rs 5000 in total.
Let us tell you that earlier, through the PM Internship Scheme portal, about 50 companies in the country had collectively offered more than 13 thousand internships. These companies include names like TCS, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Apollo Tyres, Titan, Divis Labs and Britannia.
The PM Internship Scheme portal was opened for corporate registration last week, which is going live on Saturday. Around 200 companies have been registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs under this government scheme to address the skill gap among the youth. The scheme aims to bring 1.2 lakh internships in the current financial year.
Major companies like Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Tata Group and Jubilant Foodworks are among the top contributors to offering internships. According to multiple media reports, “opportunities exist across a range of sectors, including banking, financial services, oil, energy, FMCG, manufacturing and hospitality.”
This scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Budget2024. The objective of the scheme is to provide internship to one crore youth. The scheme focuses on the top 500 companies in terms of CSR spend in the last three years. The internships offered under this scheme include roles such as sales, marketing, production, manufacturing and operations management.”
