New Delhi. The number of vehicles exported from India has seen a jump of 14 percent in the first half of the financial year 202425. During this period, more than 25 lakh vehicles have been exported to different countries of the world. According to the data, 25,28,248 units have been exported in the period from April to September of the current financial year. In the same period of the last financial year, this figure was 22,11,457 units. According to industry data, exports of passenger vehicles, twowheelers and commercial vehicles have seen doubledigit growth. Threewheeler exports have declined by one percent on an annual basis. However, there has been an improvement compared to the 18 percent decline in the same period of the last financial year. A total of 3,76,679 units have been exported in the passenger vehicle segment between the period of April to September. There has been a jump of 12 percent on annual basis.
In the first half of the current financial year, 19,59,145 units of twowheelers have been exported. There has been an increase of 16 percent on annual basis. In the same period of the last financial year, this figure was 16,85,907 units. Maruti Suzuki India has exported the maximum number of vehicles in the passenger segment. The company has exported 1,47,063 vehicles during the review period. Hyundai Motors India stood second with exports of 62,162 vehicles.
Leading automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has also crossed the milestone of 1 crore cumulative production at its Manesar facility in Haryana. In the twowheeler segment, Bajaj Auto was the top exporter with 764,827 units in the April to September period, followed by TVS Motor. The Indian automobile market has seen a growth rate of 6.55 percent in the first half of the financial year 202425. The reason for this is the increase in rural demand.
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), in the AprilSeptember period, twowheeler segment sales have increased by 9.08 percent, threewheeler segment sales have increased by 7.58 percent, passenger vehicle segment sales have increased by 1.07 percent. However, during this period, retail sales of commercial vehicles declined by 0.65 percent and retail sales of tractors declined by 8.82 percent.
