Washington. Chinese social media app TikTok has said that it is preparing to restart its services in the US. After this, she thanked Presidentelect Donald Trump and said that his words had strengthened her and increased her 'confidence'.
The incident occurred after Trump promised to allow TikTok to operate in the US again.
Earlier, on Saturday night, TikTok had stopped working in the US following the ban order of the Biden government.
In a post on Twitter on Sunday, TikTok said, “As per the agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of resuming its services. We thank President Trump for providing our service providers with the assurance that They will not be punished. TikTok provides employment to more than 170 million Americans and 7 million small businesses.
“This is a strong step forward against First Amendment rights and arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a longterm solution to keep TikTok in the United States,” the post said.
Trump told Truth Social that he plans to issue an executive order on Monday to delay the ban on TikTok for 90 days.
He said, “I am asking companies not to leave TikTok in uncertainty! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the deadline before the ban and we can reach an agreement to protect our national security.” “
He said, “The order will also ensure that there will be no liability on any company that disrupted TikTok before my order. Americans have the right to watch my swearingin as well as other events and discussions.”
Additionally, he proposed a 50 percent stake for the US in a joint venture involving TikTok.
He said, “I want the US to have a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. This way, we can save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to grow further. Without US approval, TikTok can't happen. If approved with us, it could be worth hundreds of billions of dollars – maybe trillions of dollars.”
Earlier in his victory speech also, Trump had maintained a positive attitude towards TikTok. “We love TikTok. We need to save TikTok. This is because we need to save a lot of jobs. We don't want to give our business to China. I agreed to approve TikTok on this condition,” he told supporters. That 50 percent of the company will remain with America.”
