Dammam. Tata Motors on Tuesday announced the launch of its first automated manual transmission (AMT) truck, the Tata Prima 4440.S AMT, in Saudi Arabia.
Tata Motors also showcased five of its highperformance products at the Heavy Equipment and Trucks (HEAT) show in Dammam, which are designed and engineered to suit the country's needs and cater to a wide range of applications.
Speaking at Tata Motors' HEAT Show Pavilion, Anurag Mehrotra, Head, International Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “Saudi Arabia is an important region for Tata Motors. Saudi Arabia is undergoing rapid change, hence We are committed to supporting its emerging mobility needs with our advanced solutions.”
“With a strong focus on the latest technology, reliability and customer profitability, we are proud to launch our first Automated Manual Transmission truck in Saudi Arabia,” Mehrotra said.
Tata Motors' range of trucks is complemented by comprehensive services, provided in partnership with its official distributor Mohammad Yousuf Nagi Motors Company.
The Prima 4440.S AMT Carrier is suitable for heavy equipment transportation.
According to a company statement, along with fuel saving and durable automated transmission, this truck is equipped with many smart features like loadbased speed control system, system down protection system and auto startstop system for better fuel efficiency.
It is powered by a EuroV compliant 8.9litre Cummins engine that produces 400 bhp and 1,700 Nm of torque, ensuring there is enough power to handle the heaviest loads, toughest terrains and steepest slopes.
The modern cabin with pneumatically suspended seats and tiltandtelescopic steering wheel enhances driver comfort and convenience, thereby enhancing productivity, the statement said.
Tata Motors offers a wide commercial vehicle portfolio in over 40 countries, including cargo vehicles ranging from 1 tonne to 60 tonne and mass mobility solutions ranging from 9seater to 71seater.
