New Delhi. Apple’s recently launched ‘Made in India’ iPhone-16 is witnessing an increase in pre-orders in the country. The new iPhone will be available for sale in the market from September 20. This information was given by trade analysts on Thursday.
Analysts say that exports are also expected to increase due to the large number of orders for the new iPhone-16.
According to channel checks, there is a strong trend towards iPhone-16 among buyers. This is due to the new updates in iPhone-16 and its lower price compared to the 15 series.
In India, the new iPhones will be available starting September 20 across both retail and online stores. This includes Apple BKC (Mumbai) and Apple Saket (New Delhi) stores along with the company’s authorised sellers.
Counterpoint Research Director Tarun Pathak said that this time there is a greater demand for the base variant of the new iPhone compared to last year. At the same time, companies are also providing attractive financing options. Due to this, it seems that the new 16 series will break the previous records.
Prabhu Ram, VP, Industry Research Group, CyberMedia Research (CMR), while talking to said that Apple seems to be benefiting from the growing demand for premium phones in the Indian smartphone market.
He further said that apart from the iPhone-16 series, sales of older iPhone series like 14 and 13 are also seeing an increase.
Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the first weekend pre-order sales of the iPhone 16 series globally are estimated to be around 37 million units.
Apple’s share in the Indian market is 6 percent in terms of volume and 16 percent in value. Apple’s business is growing rapidly in India. Its revenue may cross the $10 billion mark by 2025.
