Electric vehicles (EVs) remain the main center of attraction at the ongoing 'Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025' in the national capital. Several companies like Vinfast and BYD introduced their products in the passenger vehicle segment while Wave Mobility introduced the solarpowered electric mini car Ava. In the commercial vehicles category, JBM Electric Vehicles introduced four new electric buses including the luxury coach Galaxy. EKA Mobility, aiming to expand its product portfolio, introduced an electric truck and a sixseater public transport vehicle. On the second day of the auto exhibition, South Korean company Hyundai Motor Company announced to explore partnership with TVS Motor Company in the development of endtoend transportation solutions for India.
Vinfast Auto will launch two SUVs
Vietnamese company Vinfast Auto unveiled its two electric SUVs VF7 and VF6 and said that both these models will be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year. These will be the company's first vehicles to be launched in India. Vinfast is currently engaged in setting up its manufacturing plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu at a cost of $500 million. It expects the plant to be ready in the second half of 2025, after which it will launch the products. Vinfast Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Phan San Chau said the company is in talks with the government for its investments in India to be considered for incentives under the new EV policy. The company is looking to export EVs produced in India to West Asian and African markets.
BYD also launched electric SUV
China's leading EV company BYD also announced the launch of its electric SUV Celon 7 and started booking it. Apart from this, the company also introduced Celon 6 and BYD Super Plugin Hybrid EV and Yangwang U8. In the commercial vehicle segment, JBM Electric introduced four new electric buses including the luxury coach Galaxy. It also introduced an intercity bus express, low floor electric medical mobile units eMedlife and eSkylife.

EV manufacturer Wave Mobility has launched its solarcharged electric minicar 'Ava' at an attractive starting price of Rs 3.25 lakh. The company has introduced this threeseat vehicle in three versions. Bengalurubased company Numeros Motors has introduced its escooter Diplos Max, which is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh. JSW MG Motor India introduced its SUV Magester while Godavari Electric Motors introduced two electric scooters. Commercial vehicle maker SML Isuzu announced its foray into electric vehicle business with the introduction of the Hero EV platform for commercial buses. It is expected to be launched in the AprilJune quarter this year. Isuzu Motors India has also showcased the concept model of its DMax BEV. It has been developed keeping in mind the needs of commercial and passenger vehicles with strong performance of pickup trucks.
