Mumbai . German luxury car manufacturer Audi informed that the company sold 5,816 cars in India this year. The company sold 1,927 retail units in the fourth quarter.
With this, the auto maker has crossed the mark of selling 1,00,000 units in the country so far.
The company said that the brand's preowned car business 'Audi Approved: Plus' recorded a strong growth of 32 percent in 2024 compared to last year.
Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “The first half of 2024 brought supply challenges for Audi India, yet the continued demand for our products reflects the unwavering confidence our customers have in the brand. “With improvement in volumes, volumes increased by 36 per cent in the fourth quarter compared to the previous quarter.”
Dhillon said, “This year also marked a major milestone with sales of 1,00,000 cars in India. With the introduction of the new Audi Q8 and Audi Q7, as well as a strong portfolio, we are looking forward to a strong fourth quarter.” We are closing our doors and expect sales to increase further.”
The automaker inaugurated its largest luxury used car showroom in the northeast region in Guwahati, followed by a new facility in Mangalore.
Currently with 26 facilities across key hubs in India, the brand plans to further expand this network to meet the growing demand for preowned luxury cars.
Dhillon said, “We remain optimistic about the longterm potential of the Indian luxury car market and are committed to providing the best experience to our customers.”
The launch of the new Audi Q8 and Audi Q7 models strengthened the brand's 'Q Range' and boosted its leadership in the luxury SUV segment, garnering great enthusiasm among customers.
According to industry data, luxury car sales are witnessing strong demand in the domestic market.
According to Knight Frank's latest wealth report, the number of people in India with a net worth of more than $30 million will increase to 19,908 by 2028, from 13,263 in 2023.
