New Delhi . 'Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India' (HMSI) informed on Saturday that the company's total sales in 2024 stood at 58,01,498 units, which shows an increase of 32 percent compared to 2023.
This includes last year's domestic sales of 52,92,976 units and exports of 5,08,522 units.
The company said in a statement that total sales in the month of December stood at 3,08,083 units. This includes domestic sales of 2,70,919 units and exports of 37,164 units.
HMSI said that the company set a new record by selling 6 crore domestic units in the country.
Taking another step towards promoting 'Make in India' initiative, HMSI inaugurated a new third assembly line at its fourth twowheeler plant in Vithalapur, Gujarat.
The company also added a stateoftheart engine assembly line at its Global Resources factory in Manesar, Gurugram, with a focus on CKD exports.
HMSI also introduced 'Activa E:' and 'QCvan' in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.
The company said, “Bookings for these started from January 1, 2025 and their deliveries will start from February 2025. The prices of all these new electric scooters will be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo later this month.”
The automaker said that the company has launched models of Activa 125, SP125, SP160 and Unicorn under 'OBD2B' with advanced features.
Honda, which started its retail business in June 2001, has been delighting Indian customers for more than two decades.
Additionally, Honda's 125cc motorcycles 'Shine and SP125' have crossed more than 30 lakh customers in eastern India.
The company also announced its achievement of crossing the 10 million customer mark for Activa in South India.
Driven by rising private consumption and disposable income, India is projected to cross 26 million units in 2024, a growth of 9 per cent yearonyear. This has surpassed the preCovid peak of 25.4 million units in 2018.
