Rain spoiled the first day's play, Bangladesh 3107


Kanpur . The first day of the second match of the twomatch Test series between India and Bangladesh was named after rain. Only a few overs of play took place after lunch when due to heavy rain the game was not possible. Bangladesh scored 107 runs after losing 3 wickets during this period.

The play of the morning session started with some delay due to the ground being wet due to rain last night (Thursday). Although there was no rain in the first session, Bangladesh team lost two wickets in this session. The second session also started with a slight delay, meanwhile offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto and took the third wicket. But after this it started raining heavily and the entire ground was covered with cover.

Match officials decided to end the day's play in view of the possibility of rain continuing. On Saturday, the second day of the match, play will start half an hour earlier.

In the morning, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Fast bowler Akash Deep, who took two wickets in the last match, gave India its first success in the 9th over, when he got Zakir Hasan caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal. Zakir Hasan faced 24 balls but could not open the account. Akash Deep gave second success to India by LBWing Shadman Islam. Shadman scored 24 runs in 36 balls with the help of four fours. After two wickets fell at 29 runs, Mominul Haq and captain Shanto made a partnership of 51 runs for the third wicket and did not allow the team to suffer any further loss till lunch.

After lunch, Ashwin gave India its third success by LBWing Nazmul Shanto. Shanto scored 31 runs in 57 balls with the help of 6 fours. When the first day's play was declared over due to rain, Mominul Haq was at the crease after scoring 40 runs in 81 balls with the help of 7 fours and Rahim was at the crease after scoring 6 runs in 13 balls.

For India, Akash Deep took 2 wickets for 34 runs and Ashwin took 1 wicket for 22 runs.
