Nainpur. Mandla MLA and Minister of State Sampatiya Uike inaugurated the twoday district level KhoKho competition organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, Minister Uike while talking to the media gave information about the competition.
Minister Uike said that teams of men and women category are participating in this competition, in which teams from seven colleges of the district are participating in the competition. “We have launched the men's team game,” he said.
Minister Uike also said that the Prime Minister of the country and the Chief Minister of the state are promoting sports at every level. Sports are being encouraged from Gram Panchayat to District level. He said, “Sports like cricket, badminton, hockey and KhoKho from rural areas are becoming famous at the national level, which shows the awareness and interest in sports.”
Minister Sampatia Uike also shared that “I have been a national player of KhoKho in my time and I have a deep love for sports.” He also said that the district level KhoKho competition will prove to be a great boost for the players of rural areas and is extremely important for their future.
Organizing this competition will provide an important opportunity to the players to showcase their talent and gain recognition at the national level.
