-Jangra won the title in super featherweight category, defeated Conor McNutosh in a onesided manner
Chandigarh. Indian boxer Mandeep Jangra has created history in proboxing. He won the WBF super featherweight title in the USA. He is the first Indian to become world champion in any category. Mandeep defeated British boxer Conor McNutosh in the fight held in Cayman Islands.
The British boxer had no answer to Mandeep's punch in the fight for the WBF World Title. He delivered powerful punches from the beginning and his stamina remained till the end. Conner tried to make a comeback, but Mandeep Jangra had the upper hand in most of the rounds. Mandeep said that this is one of the biggest victories of my career. I am thankful to my sponsor Nash Built Construction along with Chief Coach Roy Jones, Assistant Coach Asa Baird and Angel. If he had not been there, I probably would not have been able to win this title for the country.
Indian boxer Mandeep said that I am happy that I am the first Indian to win the world title. I have worked hard for years to achieve this. It is a matter of pride for me that I could bring glory to the country. I think this title will open the way for other boxers of the country and they will also decide to make a career in professional boxing. Our boxers are good and there is no dearth of talent. If he gets a good promoter and manager, he can also become a world champion.
