New Delhi . Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Samastipur district of Bihar has created history. He is the youngest player to be a part of the world's famous cricket league IPL. 'This is the result of years of hard work', what can I tell you? We faced many difficulties but never let Vaibhav feel any shortage. These words are of Sanjeev Suryavanshi, father of Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Rajasthan Royals spent Rs 1.10 crore for this 13 year old boy. From this you must have guessed that there must be something to it after all. Vaibhav was fond of cricket since childhood.
He was born in Motipur in Samastipur district. From the age of five, his father Sanjeev started making Vaibhav practice net. So that the son does not face much trouble and to reduce the challenge during the Corona period, Vaibhav's father got a net installed at home. After this Vaibhav took admission in the Cricket Academy of Samastipur. Gradually, with age, his skills improved and his training increased. Vaibhav has also taken training from Manish Ojha at Jesus Academy, Patna.
Ever since Rajasthan Royals bought Vaibhav Suryavanshi for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 auction in Saudi Arabia on Monday, the 13yearold player has created a lot of buzz in the cricket world around the world.
Apart from performing strongly in the domestic circuit, before joining the India Under19 team, Suryavanshi had created history by making his firstclass debut for Bihar against Mumbai in the 202324 Ranji Trophy. At that time his age was 12 years and 284 days. Earlier, the lefthanded player has scored almost 400 runs in five matches for the state in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
Just a day before the IPL 2025 mega auction, Suryavanshi made his T20 debut for Bihar in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Rajasthan on Saturday, scoring 13 runs in 6 balls.
After making an impact in the junior circuit, Suryavanshi is yet to play any major innings in firstclass cricket. If we talk about IPL debut, then it will depend on Rajasthan Royals whether they give a chance to this player to debut, because there is no such problem regarding age in IPL.
Vaibhav's father Sanjeev Suryavanshi told , “He faced many problems to take his son to this position. But seeing the potential that Vaibhav had and his hunger for cricket, he always got courage. There came a time when His family had to sell some of their land due to financial problems and did not let the child suffer. Now his wish was that his son would live in India. Although he is currently playing Under19 and Asia Cup, he wants to be a part of the main team of India very soon.
