New Delhi . Preparations of the teams for IPL 2025 have started, the first phase of which will be retaining the players and megaauction. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has given a big statement regarding Chennai Super Kings.
He believes that MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja will be the three retained players for Chennai ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchisee will not have to think much to select them.
The former cricketer said on GeoCinema, “MS Dhoni will definitely top the list of retained players. There is no doubt about it, especially because he is an uncapped player now. He has done a lot for the team and there is no one at his expense.” There is no question.
“Rituraj Gaikwad is the captain, and he has had a good year, so you would hope to retain him as well. Ravindra Jadeja also cannot be left out, so I think these three would be perfect retentions for him. There will be players.”
Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra feels that the Right to Match card will be beneficial for fivetime IPL champions CSK.
He said, “I don't think they will retain five players. They can retain 34 players. I see two players worth Rs 18 crore in Rituraj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja. If you want to keep them, So you have to match that price. Also, they have MS Dhoni, Shivam Dubey and Mathisha Pathirana.
“I think they will keep Shivam Dubey and use the Right to Match card for Deepak Chahar, maybe depending on his fitness. The price of these players is really very high, so the Right to Match card will help them get players cheaply. “Could be useful to get. If Dubey is sold in the auction, he may get a price of more than Rs 10 or 11 crore.”
Jadeja, on the other hand, feels that RCB will be wise in retaining players in IPL 2025.
He said, “We don't need to discuss about Virat Kohli; it's the same as retaining Dhoni.
