“I'm sure by the time we face Pakistan, we will be ready. Mentally, we need to stay strong. Coming from India, we are somewhat used to the heat compared to other teams, but The first few days were really tiring. However, the preparation has been really good and we had a great camp in Bengaluru before coming here, where we tried to cover all the bases.”
Talking about the IndiaPakistan rivalry in women's cricket, Smriti said, “I think the IndiaPakistan clash is more about the emotions of the fans than anything else. It's not that the players don't talk to each other. “It's the emotions of both countries that make it so intense.”
Apart from India, there are teams from Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Group A of the tournament.
Full of confidence, the Indian women's team would like to stake claim for the trophy this time on the global stage. Based on some past statistics and performance, the Indian women's team is a strong contender to win the title this time.
