Sangeeta Kumari (8', 55'), Preeti Dubey (43') and Udita (44') scored the goals. At the same time, India created many chances and scored three points with a strong defensive performance.
India started the game slowly and Malaysia's Noor Mohammed got the first chance to score, but Indian goalkeeper Savita made a brilliant save. After this, Malaysia soon got a penalty corner. But, he was not successful in taking advantage of it either.
In the first match of the tournament played against Malaysia, Kumari Sangeeta made a bang for Team India by scoring the first goal in the 8th minute. After this the team could not score a single goal till halftime.
After halftime, Indian player Preeti Dubey scored the second goal in the 43rd minute to give the team a 20 lead. Just a minute later, Udita scored the third goal for the team. The Malaysian team tried hard, but were not successful in penetrating the Indian defence.
At the same time, Sangeeta Kumari scored the fourth and last goal for Team India in the 55th minute. With this, India had achieved a 40 lead in the match. The Indian defense performed brilliantly in the match, they did not allow the Malaysian team to score a single goal in the match.
After the win against Malaysia, coach Harendra Singh praised the team and said, “I want to congratulate my team that they won the match by four goals and kept a clean sheet. It is important to win in league matches without conceding a goal, it The team's confidence increases. We have to focus on every match so that no mistakes are made, but we are prepared.”
Indian women's hockey team captain Salima Tete reacted to her team's performance after the match against Malaysia. He said that we did not play that well in the beginning, especially in the first and second quarters. But, we played well in the third and fourth quarters. Our team played attacking hockey and we will maintain it in the next matches also.
After the match, Malaysia team captain Deen Juliani said that we gave our best performance. Praising the Indian team, he said that India is a very strong team, they have experienced players and they are preparing for the Olympics. We are feeling proud that we played well against them.
The Indian team will play its next match of 'Bihar Women's Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir2024' against Korea on 12th November.
