New Delhi . Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that leftarm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh can fetch Rs 1820 crore and become the most expensive bowler in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction.
Arshdeep, who has taken 95 T20 wickets for India, has taken 76 wickets in 65 matches for Punjab Kings since 2019. But he was not retained by the franchise before the auction. He is among the highprofile names in the marquee set of auctions to be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
Aakash Chopra said on GeoCinema platform, “Arshdeep can fetch Rs 1820 crore, making him the most expensive bowler in the auction. His ability to bowl under pressure is excellent.”
Former Indian player Robin Uthappa said, “Arshdeep could get Rs 1015 crore, possibly coming back to Punjab through RTM.”
He also feels that Trent Boult and Harshal Patel will start a bidding war among the ten teams. Boult does wonders with the new ball, but Harshal being Indian and having the skills to play with the old ball makes him even more valuable in the IPL setup.
Uthappa believes that despite a poor IPL 2024 season with Punjab Kings, seambowling allrounder Sam Curran will remain a hot name in the auction. Sam has thrived at CSK and may find himself back there as he can work hard for them.
